What the school wanted

After Deans Field Primary School in Halifax contacted us with a clear vision in mind, we worked together to design and build a playful, modern, functional space within their school which reflects everything they believe in. The school were in need of a washroom refurbishment, including their male and female cubicles, vanity units and everything in between and wanted to make a space which isn’t frightening and instead, adds some life and colour into the building.

The main aim of this project was to transform their old, lifeless toilets into a colourful place which reflects the children and school values. Once both the school team and we were happy with the plans, our team of designers and installers came together to come up with best possible solutions and create something which benefitting everyone involved.

What Inspired Washrooms achieved

Like many of our school toilet projects, this school had a clear vision of having a vibrant space for students, staff and visitors which offered a friendly feel. After brainstorming a few different looks, Inspired Washrooms and the school decided on a popular, bold look which represents young minds, playful souls and a relaxed environment.

Incorporated the use of vibrant, stimulating colours, this set of toilets is both simple and exciting. We created a practical space of cubicles and vanity units, complete with top-of-the-range equipment, classic white finishings and functional flooring and walls. Featuring our signature splash silhouette mirrors and easy-to-use fixtures, the toilets came with everything the students would require throughout the school day.

School Cubicle Refurbishment

Toilet cubicles are a key element of any washroom fit out or refurbishment, and with school washrooms specifically, the cubicles must be easy to use, spacious and reliable for constant use. These school cubicles came with hard-wearing floors, IPS units to the back, an easy push flush, a classic toilet holder and easy-to-use locks for complete privacy. The cubicles were also decorated in line with the washrooms colour scheme and were finished off in a stimulating tone which brings life to the room.

Vanity Units, Splash Mirrors and finishing touches

A running theme through school washrooms is the need for practicality, but with a youthful touch. That’s why we’ve made sure we have plenty of ideas when it comes to added accessories and electrics in the space. For Deans Field Primary School, we installed electrical hand dryers, push soap dispensers and automated push taps to make using the facilities as easy to use as possible. We know that many students avoid using school washrooms, so aim to design a space which is simple and makes them comfortable. We typically finish these designs off with our iconic splash mirror to give a stylish, childlike look.
